Welcome!
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine

Hello everyone,

Just in time for August monsoon weather, the theme for this week's book travel destination is the west! As I sat listening to our thunderstorm yesterday, I was reading a book by Barbara Kingsolver called the Lacuna. This is a book about Mexico in the 1920's and '30's. You could read Wallace Stegner's Angle of Repose as well. Other good books about the west include Kingsolver's Bean Trees, True Grit, Little House on the Prairie, Grapes of Wrath or almost anything by Louis L'Amour.

So saddle up your vehicle and get on up to the Lincoln Room in the library tomorrow at noon for a book hoe-down! Remember to bring your own chow and we'll supply the cookies.
